The Creators

Co-writer, director of Gun Day and veteran of animation and visual-effects, James Parris heads up the visual and creative direction of Paper Tiger Films. James cut his first teeth on Disney’s animated blockbuster, The Lion King.

Between CG effects (Spider-Man, I, Robot and the Oscar winning visual effects team of The Curious Case of Benjamin Button), short films and commercial directing, James believes the delicate merging of meticulous planning with the power of actor-driven spontaneity is key to success in tentpoles and indies alike.

Gun Day co-writer and producer, Matthew Sidney Long, was raised in the redwoods of Northern California before his independent filmmaking path led him to Durham, North Carolina where he co-founded the DIY filmmaking concern Sea Shanty Films. Now back on the west coast, Matthew currently swims with the sharks as a feature screenwriter in Downtown LA.

Matt co-wrote and directed the indie feature film X-GEN and produced the online comedy series 2 Hopeful Spinsters, as well as writing and producing the award winning shorts The Wingnut And You!, Bailey and Good Things Come In Small Packages. In addition, Matthew co-hosts the No Recess Podcast on the Superior Fandom podcast network and is a feminist and gun control activist
